The Quality Texas Foundation Announces

Three 2010 Recipients of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence

And Names Seventeen Other Organizations For Recognition

 
The Quality Texas Foundation, administrator of Texas’ premier annual performance excellence award, announced today that K&N Management-Mighty Fine Burgers/Rudy’s BBQ Austin, Raytheon SAS Advanced Products Center, and Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano have been selected as recipients of the 2010 Texas Award for Performance Excellence. These organizations have been identified as role models based on their performance using the Baldrige Criteria.
 
K&N Managementis the licensed developing entity for the Austin area Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q and the creator of Mighty Fine Burgers, Fries and Shakes. Baylor Regional Medical Center of Plano (BRMCP) is a subsidiary of the Baylor Health Care System. Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Health Care System exists to serve all people through exemplary healthcare, education, research and community service. Licensed as a 112-bed acute care hospital, BRMCP has served the primarily adult population in North Texas since 2004 and offers a wide variety of service lines to support community needs including digestive systems, orthopedic surgery, pulmonary, oncology, imaging services and the emergency department.
 
The organizational culture is built from the Mission, Vision and Values illustrated in the Circle of Care established through the Baylor system. BRMCP operates on the core values of Integrity, Servanthood, Quality, Innovation, and Stewardship as it strives to achieve the vision of being distinguished as the premier provider of patient-centered care.
 
Patterned after the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award criteria and process, the Texas Award for Performance Excellence is an annual recognition of Texas organizations that have achieved performance excellence and applied outstanding quality principles in their day-to-day operations. The award is presented to organizations that serve as role models for quality, customer satisfaction, and performance excellence in the state of Texas. This year’s award will be presented on June 7.
 
 

Achievement Level

 
Three additional organizations are recognized for their Achievement in Organizational Excellence with well-deployed, effective, systematic approaches to organizational management with good performance levels and trends evaluated against industry standards. Those organizations include Baylor Medical Center at Waxahachie, South Texas Veterans Healthcare System, and Samsill Corporation.
 
These six organizations will be recognized during the Awards Ceremony scheduled for the evening of June 7, at the Hilton Bella Harbor on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, Texas.
